Star Plus’ television premiere of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ yesterday afternoon proved a raging success, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The Sooraj Barjatya film starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor averaged with a humongous 111,100 viewers between 13:30 and 17:00 – peaking at 177,800 viewers. However, the film’s premiere was a little short than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, which aired last October. At that time, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ fetched 153,300 viewers. However, its premiere was backed with a heavier marketing campaign than ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. In the coming days, the film will be shown on Star Gold and Life Ok, which will again shatter ratings.

Elsewhere on Star Plus yesterday, ‘Saathiya’ was back on top as the most watched fiction with 166,300 viewers, followed by ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 100,800 viewers and ‘Mere Angne Mein’ at 17:30 with 100,800 viewers. Valentines special ‘Ishqkiyaon Dhishkiyaon’ at 20:00 registered 48,500 viewers. Urdu drama ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ at 22:30 pulled in 51,200 viewers.

On &TV, the free-to-air television premiere of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ brought the channel its biggest ratings this year with 46,900 viewers tuning – it peaked to a record 143,800 viewers during the course of the film. The film, which stars Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma, will air once again next month on the channel. ‘The Place To Eat’ got its biggest ratings of the series with a huge 36,700 viewers, followed by ‘Tujhse Naraaz Nahi Zindagi’ with 18,200 viewers and ‘Agent Raghav’ at 21:00 with 7,300 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ got its biggest ratings of the season with 93,600 viewers – peaking at 162,700 viewers. The show did far better than some of the weekend editions of ‘Bigg Boss 9’. ‘Naagin’ at 19:00 attracted 31,100 viewers. ‘Comedy Nights Live’ at 22:30 could only muster in 3,300 viewers.

On Rishtey, movie ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ at 21:30 brought in 28,600 viewers, followed by ‘Laado’ at 19:00 with 17,700 viewers and ‘Mission Sapne’ at 20:30 with 14,300 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Abro’ at 20:00 topped ratings with its biggest audience with 98,800 viewers, followed by ‘Mohabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai’ at 21:00 with 80,000 viewers and ‘Joru Ka Ghulam’ with 32,500 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Maikay Ko Dey Do Sandesh’ at 19:30 pulled in 26,000 viewers, followed by ‘Saari Bhool Hamari Thi’ at 21:00 with 8,000 viewers and ‘Numm’ at 20:00 with 6,600 viewers.

On SAB TV, ‘Mardaani’ at 21:30 attracted 10,300 viewers, followed by ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ at 15:55 with 8,500 viewers and ‘Dostana’ at 13:00 with 4,600 viewers.

On PTC Punjabi, film ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’ garnered 21,000 viewers.

On UMP Movies, classic movie ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile’ at 20:00 registered 10,100 viewers.
