Overnights: Over 2 million watch England win Cricket World Cup on Channel 4

Channel 4 triumphed in UK ratings on Sunday with over 2 million viewers tuning into watch England lift the ICC Cricket World Cup, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The match, which was aired free-to-air on Channel 4 and More4, pulled in 1.4 million viewers between 09:00 – 13:10. The coverage then switched to More4, before returning to Channel 4 at 16:45, which garnered another 2.8 million viewers.

However, BBC One’s coverage of the Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer proved a bigger draw. It was watched by 6 million viewers between 13:50 – 19:35.
