Overnights: New Vision TV soars to No.1; Hum TV plunges on Eid Friday

In a surprise turn of events, New Vision TV beat off competition from all entertainment channels to take the No.1 position on Eid Friday, while Hum TV took a hit in ratings bringing its share down, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

New Vision TV impressed with a huge share of 0.13%. It was the most watched Asian TV channel on Eid Friday, with ‘Headline News’ at midday raking in 55,200 viewers, followed by ‘Headline News’ at 11:00 with 49,500 viewers.

Star Plus was in second place with a share of 0.12% with ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ attracting 77,700 viewers at 19:30, followed by ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ at 20:30 with 54,300 viewers and ‘Ishqbaaaz’ at 20:00 with 41,200 viewers.

Sony MAX was the biggest Bollywood film channel with a share of 0.05%. Its top film was ‘Dil Bole Hadipaa’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerji.

ZEE TV clocked a share of 0.04% with ‘Kaleerein’ at 18:00 raking in 28,500 viewers at 18:00, followed by ‘Zindagi Ki Mehek’ at 18:30 with 25,400 viewers. Rishtey also raked in a share of 0.04%.

After a huge surge during Ramadan, Hum TV took a hit in ratings on the first day of Eid. It’s share came tumbling down to 0.03%. The channel’s top feature was ‘Jago Pakistan Jago – Eid Special’ at 09:00 with 7,600 viewers. The repeat telecast of film ‘Bin Roye’ pulled in 4,700 viewers.

Colors and Sony Entertainment Television also pulled in a share of 0.03%.
