The fifth season of ‘Nach Baliye’ on Star Plus continues to be the leader amongst the weekend shows on UK Asian TV with nearly twice the audience of its closest rival.

According to exclusive Saturday night data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, ‘Nach Baliye 5’, which featured Bollywood stars Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma at 21:00 – 22:20 led the chart with a huge 184,000 – peaking at 290,900. It was slightly down from last week but still remained the most watched Asian TV show in the UK on Saturday.

The spin-off show ‘Nach Baliye 5 – Parde Ke Peeche’ attracted a further 64,800 – peaking at 88,700 between 22:20 and 22:45.

The crime thriller show ‘Arjun’, which aired earlier in the evening between 20:00 – 21:00 got the channel a viewership of 98,300 – peaking at 131,100.

On Rishtey, the second screening of comedy drama ‘Aiyyaa’ starring Rani Mukherji helped the channel attract an audience of 25,800 – peaking at 64,300 between 18:30 and 21:30.

Zing’s experiment to showcase local talent in the first UK Asian TV drama, ‘Cloud 9’ seems to be under performing. The three two and half hours omnibus edition yesterday between 17:30 and 20:00 got the channel a viewership of only 2,300 – peaking at 11,100. During the same slot last Saturday (5th January), Zing attracted 7,200 viewers.
