'MasterChef India' makes huge ratings splash in UK

‘MasterChef India’ was the most watched show on UK Asian TV last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The reality TV show at 20:00 attracted 219,600 viewers – peaking at 280,900 viewers. In second place was ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 191,900 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 171,100 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘SaraswatiChandra’ (148,600), ‘Saathiya’ (140,800), ‘Veera’ (118,900), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (118,500), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (102,000) and ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ (54,800).

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ was back in pole position with 103,100 viewers, followed by ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ with 78,600 viewers and ‘Jeevan Saathi’ with 69,300 viewers. The repeat telecast of movie ‘Cocktail’ pulled in 30,400 viewers from 21:30.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ led the channel’s ratings with 41,200 viewers, followed by ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ with 34,300 viewers and new drama ‘Do Dil Ek Jaan’ debuted with a 60-minute special and mustered in just 1,000 viewers at 21:00.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ at 21:30 pulled in the biggest audience for the channel last night. It got 90,600 viewers, followed by ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ with 74,900 viewers and ‘Chidiyaghar’ with 67,600 viewers.
