'MasterChef India' makes huge ratings splash in UK

‘MasterChef India’ was once again the most watched Asian show on UK TV last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The cookery reality show, which is aired on weekdays at 20:00 pulled in 252,300 viewers – peaking at 288,900 viewers. In second place was ‘Saathiya’ was in second place with 162,400, followed by ‘SaraswatiChandra’ with 155,300 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (151,700), ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ (149,100), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (115,500), ‘Veera’ (109,700), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (81,900) and ‘Ek Ghar Banuanga’ (36,100).

On Rishtey, ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ reigned the ratings for the first time with 69,900 viewers, followed by ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ with 63,600 and ‘Jeevan Saathi’ in third with 53,900 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ continued its rule with 35,000 viewers, followed by ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ with 28,700 viewers and ‘2613’ next with 24,600 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Bollywood Business’ at 19:30 got 12,900 viewers. ‘Cloud 9’ did well at 18:30 pulling in 10,600 viewers – the repeat at 22:30 rated zero.

On ITV4, the Indian Premier League matches averaged with 172,700 viewers – peaking at 491,500 viewers.
