Life Ok’s new mythological magnum opus ‘Mahakumbh’ had a slow start in the UK Asian TV ratings last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The one-hour launch episode featuring Gautam Rode as the lead actor, pulled in 10,100 viewers at 20:00 – peaking at 27,500 viewers. The show replaced the much loved ‘Mahadev’ in the same slot. It will be interesting to see how ‘Mahakumbh’ develops and whether or not it can be the driver the channel has been looking for. ‘Savdhaan India’ remained the leading show with 32,400 viewers at 22:30. ‘Pukar’ at 21:00 mustered in 6,500 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ held on to the top spot with 158,600 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ at 20:00 with 135,800 viewers and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at 21:30 with 135,100 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Bigg Boss 8’ reigned on the channel with 85,400 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Uttaran’ at 22:00 with 53,400 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Meri Aashiqui’ at 20:30 did well with 61,300 viewers, followed by ‘Parichay’ with 30,800 viewers at 20:00 and ‘Laado’ at 21:00 with 25,300 viewers.

On Hum TV Europe, ‘Ek Pal’ at 20:00 was top with 65,700 viewers, followed by ‘Main Abdul Qadir Hoon’ at 21:00 with 55,500 viewers.
