Overnights: ‘Mahabharat’ leads in UK with record peak
The mythological hit show ‘Mahabharat’ was not only the most watched Asian show in the UK last night but also managed to gain a record peak viewership, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.
The popular fiction, which airs at 20:30 on Star Plus, pulled in 218,700 viewers – peaking at a record high 321,300 viewers. This was followed by ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ with the highest ever audience – 206,000 viewers tuning in and ‘SaraswatiChandra’ in third but with a dip in its viewership. It recorded 129,500 viewers at 19:30.
On Colors, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ as the biggest hit on the channel with 80,500 viewers – peaking at 121,800 viewers, followed by ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ with 58,600 viewers.
On UMP Movies, the premiere of ‘Black’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji – pulled in 19,800 viewers – peaking at 79,800 viewers.
On Rishtey, the movie ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ at 18:30 recorded 36,500 viewers, followed by ‘Aamne Saamne’ with 26,200 viewers.
On Zing, the premiere of ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ at 20:00 did well with 49,600 viewers – peaking at 103,500 viewers.
