Star Plus’ popular ‘MasterChef’ imported franchise returned with a children’s version – and the show opened up with a relatively small audience for a weekend slot.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘Junior MasterChef’ launched with 67,800 viewers between 21:00 and 22:00 on Saturday and a further 45,000 viewers on Sunday night in the same time slot.

‘Arjun’ on Star Plus did well earlier in the evenings – grabbing 71,000 viewers at 20:00 and an extra 38,300 viewers on Sunday.

On Rishtey, Pakistani drama ‘Maat’ continued to do well with 79,400 viewers at 20:30 on Saturday and 47,100 viewers on Sunday. ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ (re-run) pulled in 61,600 viewers on Saturday at 21:30 and 80,900 viewers on Sunday. The World TV Premiere of ‘Chashme Budoor’ on Sunday at 17:30 brought in 10,300 viewers to the channel.

The Sony SAB TV premiere of ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ on the channel at 17:30 last night got it 20,800 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Brits Bollywood’ was most watched on the channel yesterday with 19,000 viewers at 11:30, while ‘Grinds My Teeth’ at 17:30 got 1,000 viewers on both Saturday and Sunday at 17:30.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ led with 5,100 viewers yesterday, followed by ‘Shapath’ at 21:00 with 4,600 viewers. The omnibus of ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ at 10:00 got just 200 viewers.
