Overnights: IPL pushes to top of UK ratings

The Indian Premier League managed to have the biggest average audience yesterday amongst Asian TV shows, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

While, the primetime shows on Asian TV channels remained unaffected – the IPL ruled the 4.5 hour telecast during the afternoon from 15:00. Broadcaster, ITV4 attracted 255,000 – peaking at 417,400 viewers.

Later on in the evening, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ was back on top on Star Plus with 247,600 viewers, followed by ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 213,600 at 22:00 and ‘SaraswatiChandra’ at 19:30 with 202,500.

The others were ‘MasterChef India’ (195,900), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (172,400), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (155,000), ‘Saathiya’ (129,800) and ‘Veera’ (111,100).

On Star Life Ok, ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ was back on top with 24,500, followed by the repeat of ‘2613’ at 23:30 with 23,900 viewers.

It was another record night for Rishtey with ‘Bairi Piya’ grabbing a massive 126,500 viewers at 20:30, followed by ‘Jeevan Saathi’ at 20:00 with another high of 119,600 viewers.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Chidiyaghar’ at 21:00 attracted 77,000, followed by ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ with 75,300 viewers and ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ next with 71,100 viewers.
