The Indian Premier League final between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings was easily the most watched Asian event on UK TV last night.

The coverage on ITV4 pulled in 394,900 viewers from 14:45. It peaked to a record 641,300 viewers towards the end of the programme where Mumbai Indians were crowned champions of the sixth season of the tournament.

Elsewhere, on Rishtey, new Pakistani drama ‘Mera Naseeb’ debuted on the channel with 29,100 viewers at 20:30. Last year’s ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ pulled in 87,300 viewers (Saturday) and 31,700 viewers (Sunday).

The final episode of Pakistani drama ‘Humsafar’, which ended on Saturday night attracted 118,100 viewers at 20:30. The show has proved a record breaker for the channel.

On Star Plus, ‘India’s Dancing Superstar’ was the most watched show at the weekend with 135,900 viewers (Saturday) 148,600 viewers (Sunday) and ‘Xtra Beats’ at 22:30 garnered 83,500 viewers on Saturday night.

Crime show ‘Arjun’ pulled in 51,100 viewers on Saturday, with a further 84,800 viewers on Sunday.

The special UK recorded show of Kushal Tandon and Nia Sharma’s recent UK visit at 18:30 delivered 25,600 viewers.

On Friday, ‘SaraswatiChandra was the most watched Asian drama with 185,400 viewers at 19:30.

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ was most watched drama on the channel with 103,100 viewers at 20:30.

On Zing, the 100th episode of local drama ‘Cloud 9’ disappointed with a zero rating at 18:30 and 22:30 on Friday evening.
