Overnights: IPL 2019 shatters Star Gold UK records on Sunday

Star Gold UK triumphed in ratings on Sunday with record-breaking numbers on the back of day two coverage of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019), according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The channel’s share shot up to its biggest ever with 0.43% – no other Asian TV broadcaster has delivered such a huge share, except Star Plus in the history of BARB reporting. Star Gold’s coverage of its second and third match of the series, averaged with over 100,000 viewers – peaking at 125,400 viewers.

Star Gold was nearly five times ahead of its closest rivals, Sony Entertainment Television and Sony MAX, both of which garnered 0.09%. B4U Music was next with a share of 0.05%, followed by Star Plus, Geo TV, Venus TV and New Vision TV with 0.04%, Colors and Hum TV raked in a share of 0.03% and ZEE TV with just 0.01%.

Sony TV’s biggest attractions were ‘Super Dancer Chapter 3’ at 20:00 with 38,300 viewers, followed by ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ at 21:30 with 26,600 viewers.

Sony MAX’s coverage of Pakistan V Australia cricket, also gave the channel a huge surge in its share, with over 18,000 viewers tuning in.

Star Plus’ top shows were ‘Divya Drishti’ at 21:30 with 26,500 viewers, followed by ‘The Voice’ at 20:00 with 8,100 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Anaa’ led with 14,100 viewers, while on Geo TV, it was ‘Silsilay’ at 21:00 with 24,500 viewers.
