Overnights: ‘IPKKND2’ boosts 17:30 slot in UK

Opening up the band of original programming on Star Plus to 17:00 is paying dividends for the channel after ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’ proved a ratings winner last night.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, the show, which was recently shifted from 18:00 to 17:30 raked in a huge 131,000 viewers – peaking at 164,400 viewers. Furthermore, the original telecast of ‘Veera’ at 17:00 also did well with 86,000 viewers. No doubt this spells good news for the channel, which has all of its slots booked up during primetime from 18:30 – 23:00.

The top show on Star Plus was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 175,200 viewers, followed by ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – EK Baar Phir’ with 131,000 viewers, ‘Saathiya’ with 117,700 viewers and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ with 115,800 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ continued lead with 41,100 viewers, followed by ‘Udaan’ with 34,300 viewers and ‘Ashoka’ at 21:00 with 25,400 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Meri Aashiqui’ was leading show with 79,900 viewers, followed by ‘Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha’ with 25,000 viewers.

On Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ remained the top show with 45,700 viewers, followed by ‘Ajeed Dastaan Hai Yeh’ with 29,800 viewers and ‘Comedy Classes’ with 21,800 viewers.

On Hum TV Europe, the channel continued to dominate 20:00 – 22:00 with ‘Sadqay Tumhare’ leading at 20:00 with 79,500 viewers, followed by ‘Badi Aapa’ at 21:00 with 66,300 viewers.

On Sky Living, ‘Desi Rascals’ slipped from its record high 126,700 viewers on Tuesday to 93,700 viewers – peaking at 117,300 viewers.
