Overnights: ‘Indian Idol 11’ final shatters Sony TV UK ratings record

Sony Entertainment Television delivered its biggest ever share in UK ratings, owing to the success of the ‘Indian Idol 11’ final, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

Sony TV delivered a mind-boggling 0.31% share – its biggest ever. This was followed in the ratings by Hum Masala with 0.15%, Star Plus with 0.11%, Colors with 0.07%, Dunya News and Sony SAB TV with 0.06%, Star Gold with 0.05%, Hum TV and New Vision TV with 0.04%, ZEE TV and Colors Cineplex with 0.03%, Star Bharat, Sony MAX, Sony MAX 2, Colors Rishtey, B4U Movies, B4U Music and Geo TV with 0.02%.

‘Indian Idol 11’ grand final, which saw Sunny Hindustani walk away with the winning trophy last night, was watched by a whopping 117,300 viewers at 20:00 – peaking at 132,000 viewers. This was much bigger than the 80,000 viewers that tuned in for the final last year. The re-run of ‘Dus Ka Dum’ at 23:30 also did well helped by the final of ‘Indian Idol 11’. It was watched by 59,600 viewers. Earlier in the day, ‘Crime Patrol’ at 14:15 was watched by 24,200 viewers and the ‘Best of Indian Idol 11’ at 15:00 pulled in 13,300 viewers.

On Hum Masala, PSL 2020 coverage continued to give the channel a huge surge in UK ratings. The first match at 11:00 was watched by 30,000 viewers, with another 35,000 viewers tuning in for the second match later in the day.

On Star Plus, ‘MasterChef India’ at 20:00 topped the channel’s ratings with 58,000 viewers, followed by ‘MasterChef Ki Master Class’ at 19:30 with 33,500 viewers and ‘Turban Tadka’ at 11:30 with 14,700 viewers. ‘Dance Plus 5’ final repeat at 08:30 raked in 7,500 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ at 21:30 led with 23,400 viewers, followed by movie ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ at 17:00 with 21,600 viewers and ‘Naagin 4’ at 20:00 with 12,600 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildar’ at 16:00 fetched 21,000 viewers, followed by ‘Ehd-e-Wafa’ at 20:00 with 13,900 viewers, the repeat of the show at 12,000 viewers at 17:00 and ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildar’ original episode at 21:00 with 4,600 viewers.

On Star Gold, premiere of ‘Bala’ at 13:00 delivered 20,400 viewers, followed by ‘Housefull 4’ at 21:00 with 8,800 viewers and ‘Singham Returns’ at 15:45 with 3,300 viewers.

On ZEE TV, ‘Out & About’ raked in 10,800 viewers at 18:30, followed by ‘Saajan Ki Bahon Mein’ at 10:30 with 6,500 viewers and ‘Mulk’ at 15:00 with 6,400 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Alif’ repeat at 13:00 topped ratings with 10,600 viewers.
