Overnights: IIFA awards pushes Star Plus UK

The much hyped International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, which were shown on Saturday night (7th July) on Star Plus and the newly launched Star Plus HD proved a success for the broadcaster again.

According to exclusive data supplied to BizAsia from audience data system – Attentional, the IIFA awards Green Carpet 60-minute show on Saturday had an average audience of 126.800 tuning in, peaking at 169.500.

The main show, which started at 20:00 and went on until 23:30 had a bigger audience of 260.700 tuning in, with a peak of 364.900 during the show. The channel’s share for the main event peaked at 1.84%.

At the time of filing this article, we could not determine the breakdown of viewers watching Star Plus SD and Star Plus HD. These will become available in due course.

When compared to same time data a week prior to the event (30th June), Star Plus had an average audience of 20.6 (000s) between 19:00 – 20:00 and 24.4 (000s) between 20:00 – 23:30.
