The Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2016 proved a huge disappointment on Colors last night in UK ratings, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The star-studded event, which was held in Madrid last month, attracted the lowest audience in history, with just an average 13,100 viewers tuning in between 19:30 and 23:30. It peaked to 63,300 viewers. Incidentally, last year, the event delivered nearly 100,000 viewers. The low performance of IIFA 2016 could be down to two reasons: 1. Lack of promotions prior to the event telecast 2. The Euro 2016 finale, which was broadcast at the same time with a peak audience of 13 million viewers. Other shows on the channel including ‘India’s Got Talent Finale’ repeat at 16:30, ‘IIFA Green Carpet’ at 18:30 and ‘IIFA Weekend With The Stars’ all shockingly registered under 1,000 viewers.

Star Plus had its own shock with ‘Dance + 2’ at 20:00 slumping to just 8,700 viewers between 20:00 – 21:00. The most watched show on the channel was ‘Mere Angne Mein’ at 18:00 with 165,900 viewers, followed by ‘Suhani Si Ek Ladki’ at 18:30 with 123,700 viewers, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 120,300 viewers, ‘Saathiya’ with 102,600 viewers and ‘Jana Na Dil Se Door’ at 17:30 with its biggest audience to date with 102,500 viewers.

On Rishtey, film ‘Garam Masala’ at 20:30 pulled in 8,300 viewers.

On SAB TV, movie ‘Anwar’ registered 22,400 viewers – peaking at 49,400 viewers, followed by ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ at 22:00 with 2,100 viewers and ‘Apne’ at 18:30 with 2,000 viewers.

On &TV, movie ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ at 21:30 delivered 16,900 viewers, followed by movie ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ at 15:30 with 16,400 viewers, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ at 12:00 with 7,900 viewers and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ at 20:00 with 6,500 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Udaari’ brought in a record 101,100 viewers, followed by ‘Bas Ek Sanam Chaiye’ at 21:00 with 6,200 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Iss Khamoshi Ka Matlab’ at 21:00 pulled in 2,300 viewers.
