Overnights: ‘IIFA 2015’ tops Sunday UK ratings

The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2015 proved a good draw in UK ratings last night, however, its ratings were half of what Star Plus attracted for last year’s event.

This was the first time that the popular Bollywood awards function was shown on Colors after previously being aired on Star Plus. While, the ratings were much lower to previous years, it managed to top overall ratings on UK Asian television last night. ‘IIFA 2015’ main event at 21:00 pulled in 65,300 viewers – peaking at 101,300 viewers, followed by the Green Carpet event at 20:00 with 13,800 viewers. In comparison, the 2014 event, which was shown on Star Plus last year averaged 126,400 viewers and 201,200 viewers in 2013 on Star Plus.

Elsewhere on Colors last night, movie ‘Tevar’ at 16:25 pulled in 9,200 viewers, followed by ‘Desi Beat’ at 19:30 with 3,500 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘Mere Angne Mein’ at 17:30 pulled in 60,300 viewers, followed by ‘Nach Baliye’ at 20:00 with 53,600 viewers and ‘Saathiya’ at 19:00 with 52,700 viewers. Movie ‘Dolly Ki Doli’ at 22:00 raked in 10,300 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Iftaar Package’ at 21:00 topped ratings with 17,100 viewers, followed by ‘Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai’ at 21:30 with 16,700 viewers and ‘Dil Ka Kya Rang Karoon’ at 22:30 with 13,400 viewers.

On &TV, ‘The Voice India’ took lead with 30,800 viewers, followed by ‘Tujhse Naraaz Nahi Zindagi’ at 20:00 with 24,500 viewers.
