Overnights: Hum TV overtakes Star Plus at No.1 on Friday in UK

In a surprise twist of events, Hum TV took the opportunity to overtake Star Plus from the No.1 position in UK ratings on Friday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

Star Plus’ share, which has seen a significant drop this week, was down further on Friday to 0.12% – one of its lowest weekday shares. The channel has already been suffering during weekends and it now seems, signs of tougher times are ahead for the broadcaster during weekdays.

Star Plus’ top rated shows on Friday were ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 64,200 viewers, followed by ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 19:00 with 45,600 viewers and ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ at 20:30 with 41,400 viewers. The final episode of ‘Naamkarann’ at 21:00 bowed out with 28,600 viewers.

Hum TV reigned in UK ratings on Friday with an impressive share of 0.16%. Unsurprisingly, its late night shows proved more popular due to Ramadan timings. ‘Parchhayi’ at 22:30 was watched by 67,600 viewers and ‘Kankar’ at 21:30 pulled in 56,300 viewers.

Sony Entertainment Television attracted a share of 0.03%, while Colors and ZEE TV were at 0.02%.

New Vision TV was top South Asian news channel with a share of 0.05%.
