Overnights: Hum TV & Colors beat Star Plus in two slots

With numbers falling slightly for Star Plus, rival channels were able to snatch the lead in two primetime slots last night – but only just, according to exclusive data obtained by BIzAsiaLive.com.

While Star Plus remained the ultimate leader in UK ratings on Thursday, BizAsiaLive.com noticed the 18:00 – 19:00 slot being overtaken by Colors for the first time, while the coveted 19:30 slot regularly owned by Star Plus, being beaten by Hum TV.

The first slot, which is occupied by ‘Mere Angne Mein’ at 18:00 and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at 18:30 on Star Plus delivered a slot average of 55,100 viewers, while Colors’ ‘Savitri Devi College & Hospital’ (60 minutes) raked in 55,800 viewers. Star Plus had a larger peak during the slot though.

The second slot occupied by ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 on Star Plus registered 75,900 viewers, while Hum TV’s ‘Jithani’, which is on a ratings high, raked in a record viewership of 78,900 viewers – peaking at 92,200 viewers. Again, Star Plus had a larger peak during the slot with 113,300 viewers.

The top rated show on Star Plus was ‘Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil’ at 20:00 with 97,000 viewers, followed by ‘Naamkarann’ at 21:00 with 93,800 viewers. Earlier in the day, ‘Meri Durga’ was watched by 39,200 viewers at 12:30, followed by ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 13:00 with 22,400 viewers and ‘Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee’ at 13:30 with 16,900 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Uttaran’ led with 28,100 viewers at 18:30, followed by ‘Main Teri Parchai Hoon’ at 22:30 with 23,900 viewers and ‘Thapki’ at 23:00 with 19,700 viewers.

&TV remained on the low side of ratings with just ‘Waaris’ at 18:00 bringing in 7,800 viewers, followed by ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ at 20:30 with 2,800 viewers. New show ‘Krishna’, which had a huge marketing push ahead of its launch rated zero last night in the 19:30 slot.

On Hum TV, ‘Jithani’ led, followed by ‘Phir Wohi Mohabbat’ at 20:00 with 48,700 viewers and ‘Sangsaar’ at 19:00 with 23,500 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Geo Khelo Pakistan’ at 21:15 attracted 22,000 viewers – peaking at 74,600 viewers and ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ at 16:00 with 10,400 viewers average.
