'Ghar Aaja Pardesi' makes slow start on Sahara One UK

The lack of publicity surrounding Sahara One’s latest show ‘Ghar Aaja Pardesi’ has resulted in a disastrous start for the drama.

According to exclusive UK data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, the Gajendra Singh produced family show attracted just 1,000 viewers in the 20:00 slot – peaking at 2,800 viewers. The show has only just launched in the UK and it expected word of mouth will help in building up the audience for it.

It was only the film ‘Malamaal Weekly’ that aired at 21:00 on the channel, which pulled in a decent 16,300 viewers – peaking at 39,700.

On Star Plus, ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara’ was the UK’s most watched Asian show with 228,300 at 22:00 – peaking at 263,700. In second place was ‘Veera’ at 22:30 with 174,000. In third was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 21:30 with 156,000, followed by ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ with 154,300.

The others were ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ with 145,400, ‘Saathiya’ was in sixth with 122,500, ‘Yeh Khamoshiyan’ with 106,700 and ‘Kaali Ek PunarAvtar’ with 104,000.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ remained on top of the channel with 35,400, followed by ‘2612’ with 32,400. In third was ‘Junoon’ at 21:30 with 21,000.

Zing’s local drama ‘Cloud 9’ failed to attract any decent size audience to be calculated – all four episodes yesterday got a zero rating. The channel’s most watched show was ‘World Of Bollywood’ at 18:00 with 23,600.

On UMP Movies, the repeat telecast of ‘Aisha’ starring Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol got the channel 17,000 viewers at 21:00 yesterday.

Above data is an overnight rating and may change slightly after consolidated figures become available in seven days from BARB.
