Overnights: ‘Gangaa’ dominates &TV UK ratings

The first lot of overnight ratings are in for the much publicised Indian entertainment TV channel, &TV UK!

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, the first day of official data reporting saw fiction ‘Gangaa’ dominate the ratings at 20:00 with 10,400 viewers. Earlier in the day the repeat telecast of ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’ at 15:00 was watched by 10,000 viewers. ‘Razia Sultan’ at 19:00 fetched 6,900 viewers. The Shah Rukh Khan hosted gameshow ‘India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun?’ at 21:00 could only muster in around 300 viewers – peaking to 3,000 viewers.

ZEE has pulled out all the stops to promote its new channel, &TV, which launched in the UK on Monday. &TV is expected to grow further in the coming days as viewers begin to sample the channel.

Elsewhere, Hum TV did incredibly well last night with ‘Dayar-E-Dil’ at 20:00 proving a huge hit at 20:00. It attracted 86,600 viewers, followed by ‘Sheher-E-Zaat’ at 21:00 with 83,700 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘Tere Sheher Mein’ at 22:00 got the biggest ratings to date and was the most watched show on UK Asian television last night. It was watched by 144,400 viewers at 22:00, followed by ‘MasterChef India’ with 139,300 viewers and ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 21:00 with 119,800 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Swaragini’ delivered its biggest audience at 21:30 with 71,100 viewers, followed by ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ at 19:30 with 38,700 viewers and ‘Ashoka’ with 37,800 viewers was in third.

On Rishtey, ‘Warrior High’ remained the leading show with 40,300 viewers at 22:00, followed by ‘Meri Aashiqui’ with 27,800 viewers at 20:30.
