‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ trounced its rivals by grabbing the position of most watched Asian show in the UK last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The drama, which airs at 21:00 pulled in 267,700 viewers – peaking at 297,900 viewers. ‘MasterChef India’ was back in second with 233,900, followed by ‘Veera’ with 226,300 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (221,000), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (194,500), ‘SaraswatiChandra’ (170,000), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (143,400) and ‘Saathiya’ (109,700).

On Rishtey, ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ pulled in 58,300 viewers, followed by ‘Jeevan Saathi’ and ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ – both were joint second with 52,500 viewers. In third was ‘Bairi Piya’ with 51,600.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ was most watched show with 57,200 viewers, ‘Baal Veer’ was next with 40,500 and ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ in third with 26,100 viewers.

On ITV4, the latest Indian Premier League match drew 337,900 viewers between 15:00 and 19:30 – peaking at 637,600 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Bollywood Bulletin’ at 17:00 got 20,700 viewers, followed by ‘Ten On Ten’ at 17:30 with 20,300 viewers.’Cloud 9′ rated zero at 18:30 and 22:30.
