'Diya Aur Baati Hum' tops UK ratings again

The popular drama ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ registered the biggest ratings for any Asian show on UK television yesterday, according to last night’s exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, which airs at 21:00 weeknights pulled in 193,400 viewers – peaking at 239,300 viewers. In second place was ‘SaraswatiChandra’ with 179,700 viewers, followed by ‘MasterChef India’ in third with 172,400 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Saathiya’ (148,600), ‘Veera’ (122,600), ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (113,900), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (98,400) and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (83,200).

On Rishtey, ‘Swarg’ at 18:30 emerged as the most popular show on the channel with 67,500 viewers, followed by ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ with 46,400 viewers and ‘Bairi Piya’ at 20:30 next with 43,400 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Amrit Manthan’ was back on top of the channel’s ratings with 38,500 viewers, followed by ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ with 21,700 viewers. New show ‘Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai’ at 22:00 ended the week with 5,900 viewers.

On Zing, the much talked about kiss between Ajay and Simran mustered in around 500 viewers at 22:30. The earlier episode at 18:30 rated zero.

The Indian Premier League match yesterday between Kings Punjab and Kolkotta Knight Riders on ITV4 pulled in an average 219,800 viewers – peaking at 327,400 viewers.
