The unscripted Asian drama ‘Desi Rascals’ made a respectable return in UK ratings last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

Moving the show from Sky Living to flagship channel, Sky1 has proved well for the show. It had nearly double the audience last night than its launch first time around last season on Sky Living. ‘Desi Rascals’ was watched by 161,400 viewers (including Sky1 +1) last night – peaking at 233,200 viewers. Without the timeshift service, ‘Desi Rascals’ averaged with 156,600 viewers. It was third on the channel’s primetime schedule after ‘The Simpsons’ at 19:00 and ‘Strike Back: Legacy’ at 21:00. ‘Desi Rascals’ in the first season launched with 88,300 viewers (including timeshift). ‘Desi Rascals’ ended season one with around 90,000 viewers.

On UK Asian TV channels front, Star Plus remained the first choice with ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ led with 84,500 viewers at 19:30, followed by ‘Saathiya’ at 19:00 with 82,700 viewers and ‘Tu Mera Hero’ with the biggest ever audience at 20:00 with 81,400 viewers. ‘Mere Angne Mein’ at 17:30 also did well with 80,400 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Shastri Sisters’ topped ratings with 23,300 viewers, followed by ‘Udaan’ at 20:00 with 20,500 viewers and ‘Code Red’ at 22:00 with 17,300 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Meri Aashiqui’ took lead with 39,200 viewers at 20:30, followed by ‘Laado’ at 21:30 with 37,800 viewers and ‘Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan’ at 21:00 with 31,300 viewers.

On &TV, ‘Gangaa’ stayed top with 24,300 viewers, followed by ‘Badii Devrani’ at 21:30 with 13,400 viewers and ‘Bhaghyalakshmi’ at 19:30 with 10,400 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Mohabbat Aag Si’ at 22:00 was top show with 54,600 viewers, followed by ‘Tum Mere Paas Raho’ at 20:00 with 21,200 viewers and ‘Maan-O-Salwa’ at 21:00 with 17,400 viewers.
