ZEE Cinema’s first day being available to all Sky customers on Tuesday saw ‘Dangal’ give it the push that it needed, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .
The blockbuster movie starring Aamir Khan, has previously been shown to viewers to Sky Asia Pack subscribers but this was the first time that it was aired to a wider audience. It was watched by 18,000 viewers at 19:00 – peaking at 30,600 viewers. Other movies on the channel didn’t fare so well yesterday with ‘Mr India’ at 15:15 attracting 1,600 viewers and ‘Prem Rog’ at 11:35 with just under 1,000 viewers average.
The channel’s all-day ratings averaged at 3,700 viewers, with a share of 0.04%.
Sony MAX had a steady audience throughout the day with ‘Rocket Singh’ at 14:55 attracting 5,900 viewers, followed by India V Sri Lanka cricket highlights at 18:00 with 3,300 viewers and ‘3 Idiots’ at 20:00 with 1,700 viewers.
The channel’s all-day ratings averaged at 1,900 viewers, with a share of 0.02%.
On Rishtey Cineplex, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ did well for the channel with 14,100 viewers – peaking at 37,200 viewers.
The channel’s all-day ratings averaged at 6,500 viewers but its share was a lot bigger than all other Bollywood movie channels in the UK with 0.08%.
B4U Movies started off slowly with an all-day ratings average of under 1,000 viewers and a share of 0%.
