Nearly six months since Colors went free-to-air in the UK market, the channel finally saw a growth in its audience amongst primetime fictions last night.
While reality TV shows at the weekend have done well for the channel, weekday fictions have yet to leave an impact but last night showed a positive sign. According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘BeIntehaa’ and ‘Rangrasiya’ achieved the best ever ratings for fictions on the channel. ‘BeIntehaa’ drew in 103,000 viewers at 21:00 making it the leading show, followed by ‘Rangrasiya’ at 21:30 with 101,300 viewers.
It was a generally good night for Colors yesterday with most fictions getting above 50,000 viewers for the first time. ‘Balika Vadhu’ was in third place on the channel with 64,200 viewers at 20:00, ‘Madhubala’ followed with 61,400 viewers at 20:30 and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ in fifth with 60,700 viewers at 19:30.
Star Plus remained the leading channel but ratings for its fictions were down slightly. ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 21:00 was the most watched show on UK Asian telly with 161,500 viewers, followed by ‘Meri Bhabhi’ with 143,900 viewers at 20:00 and ‘SaraswatiChandra’ in third with 138,400 viewers.
On Rishtey, ‘Parichay’ at 20:00 did very well with 128,600 viewers, followed by ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’ with 127,200 viewers at 20:30.
On Star Life Ok, ‘Ek Boond Ishq’ was top show on the channel with 31,600 viewers at 20:30, followed by ‘Savdhaan India’ with 24,400 viewers and ‘Tumhari Paakhi’ slid to third place with 21,200 viewers.
