Overnights: Colors makes steady start in UK ratings

Colors, which went free-to-air in the UK market on Sky Digital on Monday, is slowly piling on the ratings, as more people get to know about the channel being free.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘Balika Vadhu’ was leading in the ratings last night with 29,500 viewers, followed by ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ got 23,700 viewers and ‘Madhubala’ with 23,200 viewers. ‘Uttaran’ was in fourth with 20,700 viewers. As reported earlier on BizAsia, it is too early to indicate the ratings for Colors as it has only just gone free-to-air. Consolidated data and much more stabilised figures will be reported in the next 4-6 weeks.

On Star Plus, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ impressed with a staggering 264,700 viewers at 21:00, followed by a dramatic episode of ‘SaraswatiChandra’ last night with 201,500 viewers and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ in third with 163,700 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Meri Bhabhi’ (156,300), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (150,700), ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (135,000), ‘Saathiya’ (102,000), ‘Veera’ (88,700), ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2’ (70,900) and ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ (51,700).

On Star Life Ok, ‘Gustakh Dil’ was on top of the ratings with 16,800 viewers, followed by ‘Geet’ with 16,700 viewers and ‘Mahadev’ in third with 15,100 viewers. The re-run of ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ in Hindi got 1,000 viewers at 14:00 and 100 viewers at 18:00 for the English dubbed.

On Rishtey, ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ was popular last night with 95,700 viewers, followed by ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ with 56,900 viewers and ‘Lagi Tujhse Lagan’ in third with 54,300 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Bollywood Life’ at 18:00 was on top with 27,300 viewers, followed by ‘Bollywood Now’ with 21,200 viewers at 17:30 and ‘Bollywood Business’ at 18:30 with 15,800 viewers.
