'Cloud 9' touches new ratings high for Zing

Zing’s experiment with local drama production, ‘Cloud 9’ has finally starting making some headway in the ratings.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, ‘Cloud 9’ had its best day in the ratings yesterday – with an audience of 23,200 tuning in at 22:30 – the highest ever since its launch last week. It peaked further 48,600 during the course show.

The original slot at 18:30 also did well with 15,900 viewers tuning in. The two other slots prior to this – 10:30 got 2,800 viewers and the 16:30 slot did reasonably well too with 6,800 viewers switching on. It remains to be seen whether these new viewers will be sticking to the show or did they tune in to sample it on the back of a huge marketing campaign led by ZEE Network.

Earlier in the week, ‘Cloud 9’ grabbed the best audience of the week for the 18:30 slot with 18,400 viewers tuning in on Tuesday night.

Over on market leader, Star Plus, ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ was the most watched show with an impressive 191,400 viewers tuning in at 20:30 – it peaked at 238,800. The second most watched show on the channel was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 21:00 with 187,400, followed by ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara’ at 22:00 with 178,000 viewers.

��Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai�۪ bounced back with 136,200 viewers tuning in and then came ‘Veera’ with 131,800 viewers tuning in at 22:30. ‘Saathiya’ was next with 109,600 – peaking at 124,600.

On Rishtey, ‘Jeevan Saathi’ was the most watched show with 55,000 viewers switching on to the channel at 20:00, then 41,400 of those viewers staying on to watch ‘Bairi Piya’ at 20:30.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘BaalVeer’ was the most watched show on the channel with 13,700 at 20:00 and on Sahara One the re-run series of ‘Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki’ pulled in 6,200 at 21:00.
