Overnights: ‘Chhapaak’ UK premiere on Star Plus peaks at 100k on Sunday

The UK television premiere of ‘Chhapaak’ on Sunday in the UK, gave Star Plus a huge victory, with an audience peak of 100,000 viewers, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The film starring Deepika Padukone, was watched by a massive 76,100 viewers at 20:00 – peaking at 103,600 viewers. This makes ‘Chhapaak’ the biggest film telecast on UK television since the lockdown in the coronavirus pandemic.

The premiere of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ on Sony MAX during the same slot (20:00) was watched by 9,400 viewers – peaking at 23,000 viewers. It is worth noting that the film starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday had already had its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video, while ‘Chhapaak’ has not been available on any digital platform thusfar.

Star Plus’ share shot up to 0.12%, followed by Sony Entertainment Television and New Vision TV with 0.08%, Star Bharat and Colors Cineplex with 0.06%, Sony MAX with 0.05%, Sony MAX 2 and Hum TV and Sony SAB TV with 0.04%, ZEE TV, Geo News, B4U Movies, NDTV 24×7 and Colors Rishtey with 0.03%, Geo TV, Colors, ABP News, B4U Music and ZEE Cinema with 0.02%.

Sony TV’s biggest attractions on Sunday were ‘India’s Best Dancer’ at 20:00 with 29,200 viewers, followed by ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ at 21:00 with 21,400 viewers and the repeat at 18:30 with 16,200 viewers.

On Star Bharat, ‘Chhichhore’ movie at 15:30 led with 17,800 viewers, followed by ‘Savdhaan India’ at 21:00 with 9,600 viewers.

On Colors Cineplex, 90s classic ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ was watched by 24,700 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Sabbat’ pulled in 30,800 viewers at 20:00, followed by ‘Tarap’ at 22:00 with 13,200 viewers and ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildar’ at 21:00 with 12,300 viewers.

On ZEE TV, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Lil Champs’ at 19:00 led with 17,400 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ pulled in 7,700 viewers at 21:30.
