Overnights: ‘Bigg Boss 8’ loses half of viewers since launch

While launch night ratings of ‘Bigg Boss 8’ on Sunday were worth shouting about, overnight ratings for the second day of the popular reality show were down by over half.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘Bigg Boss 8’ between 21:00 – 22:00 pulled in 46,200 viewers – peaking at 71,300 viewers. On Sunday night, the show launched with 125,100 viewers. In fact, the show came in second on the channel after ‘Uttaran’ at 22:30 with 51,400 viewers. ‘BeIntehaa’ in its new 22:00 timeslot raked in 41,400 viewers.

‘Bigg Boss 8’ also faced stiff competition from ‘Kankar’ on Hum TV Europe at the same time with 98,200 viewers. ‘Mere Meherbaan’ at 20:00 did well with 41,900 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ returned to top of the ratings with 119,700 viewers, followed by ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 114,200 viewers and ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’ with 104,700 viewers. With the demise of ‘SaraswatiChandra’, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ in the 19:30 slot did well with 88,800 viewers, while the repeat at 23:00 was watched only by 27,600 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ was top with 57,300 viewers.
