The opening episode of popular reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss 8’ proved to be the most popular show on UK Asian television last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The 2-hour launch special pulled in 125,100 viewers – peaking at 188,100 viewers between 21:00 – 23:15 on Colors. It will be interesting to see how the show’s ratings settle over the coming days in the peak 21:00 slot. ‘Bigg Boss 8’ will run for the next three months. The final episode of ‘The Anupam Kher Show’ on Colors raked in 44,300 viewers. Overall, Colors ruled the ratings on UK Asian television on Sunday evening.

On Star Plus, ‘Airlines’ did well with 44,100 viewers – but lower than the 100,000 viewers it attracted in the initial weeks of its launch. ‘India’s Raw Star’ raked in 22,200 viewers at 19:00.

On Hum TV Europe, ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ was the top fiction with a record high of 122,800 viewers – peaking at 159,400 viewers. The show is emerging as the most successful on the channel since it launched in the UK. ‘Ahista Ahista’ at 20:00 did very well too with 81,100 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ was top with 55,600 viewers at 22:30, followed by ‘Dare 2 Dance’ with 11,000 viewers.
