The ‘Big Star Entertainment Awards’, which were telecast as a New Years Eve special on Star Plus got the biggest viewership amongst the UK Asian TV channels last night.

According to exclusive UK viewing data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, the show’s Red Carpet event aired between 20:00 – 20:30 got the channel 144,400 – peaking at 164,400. It then averaged with an audience of 180,000 – peaking at 260,300 during the course of the main event after 20:30.

Meanwhile, Rishtey, which was broadcasting last year’s Colors Screen Awards between 22:00 and 01:00 got the channel an audience of 49,700 – peaking at 99,300. Its flagship sister station, Colors was showing the Golden Petal Awards 2012 – however as the channel does not subscribe to UK audience measuring body, BARB, audience figures could not be tracked.
