Star Life Ok’s gamble to introduce live cricket in its schedule seems to be paying off after first day coverage of the Asia Cup proved a hit for the channel.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, Star Life Ok’s Asia Cup first day Pakistan and Sri Lanka match between 07:30 and 16:30 averaged at 20,000 viewers – peaking at 45,700 viewers. The afternoon averaged band between between 13:00 – 15:00 seemed to have peaked with 30,000 viewers tuned in on average.

It was a generally a good day for Star Life Ok with ‘Tumhari Paakhi’ getting the biggest ever audience at 21:30 with 60,500 viewers tuning in. ‘Savdhaan India’ was next with 32,200 viewers and ‘Ek Boond Ishq’ next with 29,000 viewers.

Sister channel, Star Plus had ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ leading with 190,700 viewers, followed by ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ with 160,400 viewers and ‘Mahabharat’ in third with 152,100 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ was the big hit with 65,700 viewers tuned in at 19:30, followed by ‘BeIntehaa’ with 48,900 viewers and ‘Rangrasiya’ next with 39,200 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Parichay’ pulled in an impressive 138,000 viewers, followed by ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ with 107,700 viewers.
