Overnights: ‘Ashoka’ begins steady climb in UK

After a slow start, Colors’ new costume drama ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’ has finally started making headway in UK ratings – scoring the biggest audience til date last night.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘Ashoka’ pulled in 57,600 viewers – peaking at 98,600 viewers. It will be interesting to see if the historical fiction will be able to deliver the same sort of ratings as ‘Bigg Boss’ once did in the same slot. ‘Code Red’ at 22:00 was in second place with 43,400 viewers and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ in third with 35,900 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘MasterChef India’ took lead overall in UK ratings with 165,400 viewers – peaking at 210,400 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 153,600 viewers and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ in third with 133,300 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Mehram’ was top show with 73,600 viewers at 20:00, followed by ‘Parsa’ at 21:00 with 55,600 viewers and ‘Susral Mera’ with 70,000 viewers at 19:30.

On Rishtey, ‘Meri Aashiqui’ was leading show at 20:30 with 104,500 viewers, followed by ‘Laado’ at 21:00 with 55,500 viewers.

On Life Ok, ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh’ at 21:30 took lead with 38,600 viewers, followed by ‘Savdhaan India’ with 24,500 viewers and ‘Mahakumbh’ at 20:00 with 19,200 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Piya Mann Bhaye’ at 21:00 stayed top with 13,300 viewers.
