Overnights: ‘Aiyyaa’ breaks Rishtey TV record

The UK TV premiere of ‘Aiyyaa’ has proved to be a humongous hit on television, even though it failed miserably at the box office when it was released in September.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, the Rani Mukherji starer got Rishtey its biggest ever audience. The film was telecast on the channel last night between 19:00 and 22:00.

‘Aiyyaa’ scored with an audience of 80,000 – peaking at 128,200, the best ever rating for the channel since it launched in September. Prior to this, the film premiere of ‘Cocktail’ last month on Rishtey got an audience of 67,400.

The weekly movie and event premieres on Rishtey have done extremely well on the channel by lifting its audience three folds. Even though the channel has not announced its film line-up for Christmas, the schedule is expected to be equally as enticing to retain its viewership.
