'Airlines' tops weekend ratings in UK

The newly launched show ‘Airlines’ was easily the most watched show on UK Asian television over the weekend, BizAsia can exclusively confirm.

The second episode of the hour-long show at 21:00 on Sunday drew in 105,200 viewers – peaking at 124,000 viewers. The second episode of the reality show ‘India’s Raw Star’ doubled its audience from last week’s launch episode with 45,000 viewers tuning in.

The other weekend highlights on Star Plus UK included ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ returning to top of the ratings on Saturday with 85,800 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 77,200 viewers and ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’ at 18:00 with 69,100 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ led the ratings on Saturday night with 24,500 viewers at 22:30, followed by ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ with 22,000 viewers. On Sunday, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ was top with 56,000 viewers, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ at 22:30 next with 22,500 viewers and ‘The Anupam Kher Show’ in third with 8,700 viewers at 20:00.

On Rishtey, Pakistani drama ‘Numm’ could only muster in 1,400 viewers at 20:30, while ‘India’s Got Talent’ re-run at 21:30 started with 4,600 viewers. On Sunday, ‘Numm’ was top with 17,100 viewers, followed by ‘India’s Got Talent’ with 10,000 viewers.

On Hum Europe, ‘Firaaq’ was top show with 23,200 viewers on Saturday night, followed by ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ at 21:00 with 14,000 viewers. On Sunday, ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ was top with 51,200 viewers, followed by ‘Ahista Ahista’ with 27,300 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ double-bill got 66,200 viewers at 23:00, followed by the episode earlier at 22:00 with 42,800 viewers. On Sunday, ‘Savdhaan India’ once again was top show with 43,300 viewers at 23:00.

On Star Gold, the World TV Premiere of ‘Bobby Jasoos’ starring Vidya Balan at 20:00 raked in 4,700 viewers, while the premiere of ‘Humshakals’ on Sunday on the channel did better with 40,200 viewers – peaking at 70,700 viewers.
