‘Slumdog Millionaire’ actress, Freida Pinto penned a moving tribute to the veteran actor, Irrfan Khan at the Oscars 2021 on Sunday night.
The organisers of the event featured Khan and Oscar-winning designer Bhanu Athaiya in a 3-minute long remembrance. As a part of the In Memoriam, Pinto expressed her admiration for Khan.
She said, “There was simply no one like Irrfan Khan. His grace and dignity along with his monumental talent as an artist, actor – a portrayer of humanity in all it’s shapes and forms – made me not only have deep admiration for him but I instinctively wanted to emulate that grace in my career as well.”
She picked five of her favourite Khan films including ‘The Namesake’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘Maqbool’, ‘The Warrior’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
