Organisers celebrate success of Birmingham Mela

Organisers of the Birmingham Mela, which took place in the West Midlands last weekend, said it was an unprecedented success with over 125,000 people attending over two days.

The event was held in Victoria Park, Smethwick on 6th and 7th July, the park was the place for people from all over the UK enjoying top music acts, food, a variety of stalls, games and a huge funfair.

Organised by Remarkable events, Raaj FM, and Sandwell council, with sponsors Star Plus, the extravaganza saw some of the biggest names in the British Asian music industry performing- including Foji, H Dhami, Saini Surinder, Navin Kundra, Raxstar, along with international performers such as Anita Lerche amongst others. This year was the introduction to Mela�۪s Got Talent which was staged for the first time.
