Omung Kumar responds to ‘Bhoomi’ poster plagiarism claims

The first poster of Sanjay Dutt in ‘Bhoomi’ has caused quite a stir, with allegations that director Omung Kumar had lifted the concept of the creative from Hollywood film ‘The Grey’.

Talking to Mid-Day, Kumar categorically denied the reports saying that the scene is actually taken from the climax of the film. He said, “It’s a shot in my movie’s climax. It’s not a standalone image that we shot to use for the poster. There are many Bollywood and Hollywood films that have similar posters. That doesn’t warrant criticism.”

He added, “Sanjay sir’s eyes do the talking; his grungy look and grit is evident in this image. The power of this film lies in the intensity of our leading man. If we don’t show that, what should we show? Why wouldn’t I bank on my actor’s face? Baba is back and that’s the message.”

The trailer of ‘Bhoomi’ releases next week.
