Om Puri passes away aged 66
Popular actor Om Puri, best known for his role in 1999’s ‘East is East’ has passed away at the age of 66, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.
The actor is said to have died from a heart attack and was at his Mumbai residence at the time.
Puri was known not only for his Bollywood films but he also acted in independent and American films. He will be seen next in Gurinder Chadha’s ‘Viceroy’s House’ which is slated for release in March.
Puri had a notable cameo in ‘Gandhi’ made my Richard Attenborough in the 90s. He was also appreciated in ‘Bajrang Bhaijaan’ in 2015. He began his career in 1972.

Puri and his ex-wife Nandita opted for a judicial separation only last year after 26 years together.
