Ofcom rejects three Asian community radio applicants in Leicester

Ofcom has today rejected three Asian community radio applicants in Leicester.

The media regulator said it had considered applications from the following four but did not award them licenses.

LRB Digital (Leicester Radio Broadcasting Ltd), Leicester
Panj Pani Radio (Panj Pani Radio Ltd), Leicester
Radio Seerah (Seerah Academy (Radio Seerah)), Leicester

However, Ofcom did award a licence to Vijay Mistry, who will be running Radio2Funky. A station, which will serve 16 to 35 year olds who have an interest in urban music and the arts in Leicester.
