Ofcom drops investigation into The Sikh Channel

UK media regulator Ofcom has dropped an investigation into The Sikh Channel.

In February this year, Ofcom said it had launched an investigation into The Sikh Channel Community Broadcasting Company Limited under the General Procedures for investigating breaches of broadcast licences. Details of the investigation were not revealed.

However, Ofcom has today confirmed that the investigation has been discontinued.

Incidentally, The Charity Commission expressed concerns about channel’s governance and financial management, a couple of months ago. As a result of this, the commission exercised its powers under the Charities Act to appoint Mr Philip Watts and Ms Sarah Tomlinson of Anthony Collins Solicitors as interim managers of the charity.
