ARY Network UK’s woes continued after Ofcom today confirmed that it was investigating all the current licences held by the broadcaster.

Ofcom said it was investigating the operations of all the licences that fall under the ARY Network Limited licence name, which includes:
– ARY News
– ARY Digital
– ARY QTV
– ARY World News
– ARY Entertainment
– ARY QTV

As revealed on BizAsiaLive.com last week, ARY News, along with its other channels in the UK have dropped commercial slots after certain issues. Furthermore, the ARY London offices have closed down.

ARY Network UK has been embroiled in controversy lately due to tensions with rival, Geo Network’s owner, Jang Group. The issues reached a head last month when Jang Group’s Chief Executive and Editor in Chief, Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman won a £185,000 in libel damages from ARY Network UK. Apparently, the final total is in the region of £3 million when legal costs are included.
