Nushrat Bharucha unhappy with ‘Punchnama girl’ tag

Nushrat Bharucha is hoping to move past her ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ (2011) image with her upcoming film ‘Dream Girl’.

Bharucha recently opened up about the frustrations of being recognised as her film character, “Initially I was taking the tag of ‘Punchnama girl’ sportingly but then I realised that people called me by that name more than my real name! Thankfully after the success of ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ (2018), things have changed,” she told IANS, “I wondered why would people only call me the ‘Punchnama girl’ whereas there were two more girls in the film! Did they only remember me and Kartik (Aaryan) and not the rest? However, I am happy the way things have panned out now.”

Unlike the Luv Ranjan films she has starred in, Bharucha plays a positive role in ‘Dream Girl’ as Ayushmann Khurrana’s love interest. The film will release on 13th September.
