NTV to broadcast Bangla Premier League in UK?

Popular Bangladeshi entertainment channel, NTV looks as if they will be broadcasting the upcoming Twenty20 cricket, Bangla Premier League (BPL).

According to various reports, on-air promos have been flashing on the free-to-air channel. Promos suggest that NTV will air the BPL with Bengali commentary between Friday 10th February to Wednesday 29th February 2012.

There will be around 33 Twenty20 games with six teams, similar to the renowned Indian Premier League (IPL). The six teams will play each twice before knockout stages. The final four teams will play in semi-finals before deciding the ultimate winner in the finals.

There are also reports saying that Sky Sports has the English commentary rights for the tournament but at the time of filing this article, BizAsia.co.uk was awaiting a response from NTV and Sky Sports.

ESPN will broadcast the games in India.
