Recently, there were reports that Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra would be seen together in Abhishek Chaubey’s forthcoming venture, ‘Udta Punjab’. The director, however, has gone on record to confirm signing Kapoor but says he has no intentions to cast Chopra in the film.
According to Hindustan Times, Chaubey put the record straight, “I had finished writing the script a few weeks ago and happened to meet Shahid. We started discussing the film, and he showed interest in seeing the script, so I narrated it to him. He�۪s very excited, and we got him on board immediately. It all happened very quickly”.
“I haven�۪t even thought about who I would like to cast. It�۪s a difficult role; a very complex character, so I haven�۪t yet wrapped my head around who I want for it. There�۪s no truth to me having signed Priyanka for the movie,” continued he director.
Chaubey said that although it is only Kapoor confirmed at this stage, the other cast are also yet to be confirmed but he hopes to finish the film within the first two months of 2015.
