In the event of a recently passed legendary actor’s birthdayapproaching, one would think all would be in favour of doing something special. However, plans of releasing the late Rajesh Khanna’s last film on the eve of his 70th birthday have been disturbed.
Apparently, the makers of the film ‘Riyasat’ have yet to find distributors to show the film. “This is Kakaji۪s (Khanna) last film, but every distributor is looking at it as a business. He was a superstar and nobody is bothered about his last film, Hindustan Times reportedthe films director, Ashok Tyagi stating. “Everybody looks at this film with a business perspective. I was quite sentimental about releasing this film on his birth anniversary,” he added.
Tyagi also had plans to give Khanna’s family a special screening before the film released, though, due to there not being any distributors as of yet, it looks like this plan will be on hold too. Though the director is thinking positively and managing to move ahead with the plans as soon as possible, “I am sure the film will find its own way.” Tyagi explained, as it was revealed that the film is now set to release in March 2013.
