‘Nishabd’ debutante Jiah Khan passes away in reported suicide

BizAsia has learnt that Jiah Khan, the actress who made her debut in ‘Nishabd’ (2007) opposite Amitabh Bachchan, has sadly passed away.

Dia Mirza tweeted the news, “RIP Nafisa(Jiah) Khan. You were too young and beautiful…”

Tanuj Garg also took to Twitter, “Just heard the shocking news about Jiah Khan��! Such a sweet, pleasant and friendly girl !”

Born in Britain, the 25-year-old changed her first name to Jiah before making her debut but since returned to her real name, Nafisa. She also starred in ‘Ghajini’ (2008) and ‘Housefull’ (2010).

UPDATE: 21:55 BST – It is believed that at 11pm (IST) Khan committed suicide by hanging herself at her Juhu residence and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her body has been taken to Cooper Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted.
