Nimrat Kaur on life after ‘The Lunchbox’

Nimrat Kaur hit the bigtime when she was seen in ‘The Lunchbox’ (2013) which won international acclaim. Since then, she’s been seen in ‘Airlift’ (2016) but hasn’t really signed anything else. She’s spoken about the dilemma of what to do next.

“‘Lunchbox’ was a tough act to follow. A film like that happens to people maybe once. I was left wondering what I am going to do next. It’s a very classic problem and it happens to people who break into the industry with something that significant. I did face that,” said Kaur in an interview with PTI.

She added, “I only connect with a project if I want to watch it. It has always been a deciding factor for me. I won’t be a part of something that I can’t watch. Also, I would not want to do something to repeat myself… It is easy to fall into cliches.”

Kaur is now also known internationally due to her role in ‘Homeland’ and it seems the audiences may have to wait to see her grace the big screen once more.
