Nia Sharma quits ZEE TV’s ‘Jamai Raja’

One of Indian television’s most loved actress’ Nia Sharma, has confirmed to BizAsia that she has quit ZEE TV’s popular fiction ‘Jamai Raja’.

Sharma, known for her role as Roshni, was reportedly unhappy with the upcoming storyline leap the show was taking. Her co-star, Ravi Dubey will stay on and play his own son on the show.

Talking to BizAsia, Sharma said, “Yes I have [quit the show].” She also said that she will be on screen for another ten days before her character is written out.

In another interview with Times Of India, Sharma said, “There is no animosity between the production house and me. I decided to quit the moment I heard about the leap without wanting to know about the future track. I don’t know what was in store for me, but I certainly didn’t want to age. I have been associated with the show right from its inception and feel it’s about time I moved on. I now want to take up a female-centric show.”

Sharma told BizAsia that she currently had no plans for the future.
